We are an active research practice and have been so for many years. The practice is Research Ready accredited by the Royal College of Practitioners and all the partners have received training in research methods and ethics.
From time to time you may be invited to participate in studies being carried out in the practice. The studies will always have full ethical and regulatory approval. Most are national or regional studies, sponsored by university academic departments and adopted by the National Institute of Health Research (an NHS body).
You will always be given full information before being asked if you wish to take part, and your involvement is always entirely voluntary. You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you choose not to participate, your usual care will not be affected in any way.
Patients of this surgery have contributed to many studies, the results of which have provided the evidence needed to improve patient care. Many thanks to all those patients who have helped make a difference.
